Become a Partner in Aurora Science Centre

Aurora Science Centre is built on strong, multidisciplinary collaboration. The project brings together research, tourism, technology, education, and industry into a shared vision.

Why Get Involved Now?

Aurora is being developed step by step towards its planned opening in 2030. In the upcoming phases, the roles of partners and stakeholders will be further defined and strengthened, making this the ideal time to get involved and help shape the project.

A New Building – An Investment in the Arctic Future

The science centre is planned as a new-build project in the centre of Sodankylä. The goal is to create an architecturally high-quality and functionally versatile landmark that will serve exhibitions, events, research collaboration, and tourism.

We are currently seeking an investment partner and a development partner for the building project.

Aurora Science Centre will

be developed according to principles of sustainable and locally rooted construction. As part of this commitment, we are involved in Green Building Council Finland, promoting low-carbon and responsible solutions for the built environment.

The Municipality of Sodankylä is currently leading and coordinating the project until procurement processes and implementation models are prepared in accordance with legislation. The goal is to establish a sustainable, impactfull, and long-term operational model.

A Chance to Shape the Project Early On

Engaging and involving partners has been identified as a critical success factor. Early collaboration offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction, content, and impact of Aurora Science Centre from the very beginning.

We are currently seeking funding partners and collaborators for the building project. Our goal is to promote sustainable, place-based construction that reflects the unique Arctic environment and creates long-term value.

Built on the Principles of Sustainable Tourism

Aurora is being developed in line with the principles of sustainable tourism—supporting the wellbeing of northern nature and local communities. The construction will prioritise low-carbon, high-quality solutions that form a responsible foundation for a future visitor destination.

What Kind of Partnerships Are We Looking For?

Aurora offers partners:

  • A platform to showcase research and innovation
  • A new and attractive tourism destination in Lapland
  • An opportunity to be part of a significant regional development project
  • Access to networks in Arctic research and education
  • A chance to contribute to a sustainable and responsible development investment

Aurora is more than an exhibition space—it is an investment in Arctic expertise, regional vitality, and international collaboration.
